We hired Roof-Rite to do a complete shingle tear off and new roof install. After getting 3 bids for the job, we chose Roof-Rite for a few reasons. They came recommended from a friend, the price was reasonable (middle of the 3 quotes), and the sales manager Chet was very knowledgeable, helpful, and accessible throughout the entire process. Chet spent the time to thoroughly inspect the roof and attic, explain all the products available, and made honest recommendations based on our wants/needs. He was able to answer all our questions, no matter how technical. It really shows that he's been in the business a while, and has been up on the roofs doing the work himself. When the install day came, the work crew of about 8, led by Alan, arrived by 8:30 and immediately set to work covering the landscaping around the house with tarps. The process of removing the old shingles and underlayment took most of the morning (be warned, it's brutally loud!). Once that was off, they replaced a small section of plywood that had a bit of water damage and then they were off. I was amazed at how quickly the new roof went up. By 5:00 they had the new roof up and spent the next 30 minutes doing clean up, including using a magnet roller to get most of the nails out of the yards. Pretty amazing amount of work in 1 day. I went up on the roof to inspect the job, and it was very well done. As with any job this big, they were a couple small items for them to repair... one screen rip, a broken piece of vinyl siding, and a couple loose trim boards. Alan came back a few days later and did a great job fixing all items. The quality of work met our expectations. Everything Chet had explained came together nicely... from the drip edges, venting strategy, even little details like painting the chimney stacks matte black to blend in. My only recommended improvements: 1) spend a bit more time on clean up and 2) Better communication between sales and project managers. They seemed a bit hurried at the end of the day and did miss some nails and debris. However, when they came back to repair the items noted above, they ran the magnet roller again. Regarding communication, some of the detailed parts of the job (ex. moving an exhaust vent, sealing gutters, etc.) didn't seem to be communicated well between sales and project manager prior to the job. I was glad I was home to explain those items to the project manager and ensure they were done. I have no doubt they would have been done either way, but just stay on top of those things. We paid a little extra for the Certainteed 5 star warranty, which gives worry free coverage for 50 years. We've had the new roof for about a month now and couldn't be happier. We've already recommended Roof-Rite to some neighbors, and will continue to recommend them. Overall, Roof-Rite was a pleasure to work with, and I would use them again for sure.
